Frequently Asked Questions
Which Health Screenings and Immunizations are appropriate for me and my family?

Health Screening refers to a test or exam done to find a condition before symptoms begin.  Screening tests may help find disease or conditions early when they are easier to treat.

At Hampton Family Practice we offer a full range of health screenings and preventive services.  These include

  • Adult physical exams
  • Well –child exams
  • School and sports physicals
  • Immunizations
  • Pap Smears
  • Bone Density Screenings
  • Cholesterol Screenings
  • Cancer Screenings

Which tests you need depends on your age, your gender, your family history and whether or not you have any risk factors for certain diseases. Some screening tests have questionable preventive value.  We continue to adjust our ideas on screening as new data, tests, and techniques become available.

Your provider can best guide you as to the proper combination of screening tests by knowing your health concerns and performing a health risk assessment through  a comprehensive medical history and physical.
